From Netaji Road to a Wider Tamil Nadu Presence
South India Pipe Traders was founded by M. M. Syed and his sons at 250, Netaji Road, Madurai – 625001, operating from a four-storey premises of approximately 4,000 sq. ft. At a time when the pumps and plumbing trade in the region was still developing, the firm emerged as one of the pioneers in the industry.
With Madurai serving as the commercial hub of Southern Tamil Nadu, the business steadily built relationships with households, plumbers, contractors, farmers, industries and traders. In 2013, the firm established an outlet on West Masi Street, followed by another outlet in 2025. Today, operations extend across approximately 25,000 sq. ft., supporting a broader product range and larger inventory requirements.
M. M. Syed & Sons establish South India Pipe Traders and lay the foundation of the family business.
M. M. S. Sheriff Ali strengthens the business, expanding its standing in the pumps, pipes and plumbing market.
S. Shahul Hameed takes the business forward while building long-standing customer, dealer and manufacturer relationships.
S. Niyas Ahmed carries the legacy forward with a focus on distribution, availability, modern systems and customer support.

Our portfolio spans submersible, openwell, monoblock and booster pumps; PVC, UPVC, CPVC, SWR, column and HDPE pipes; water tanks; cables; control panels; hoses; fittings; valves; accessories; and complete agricultural, domestic, commercial and industrial water solutions.
